He was born in San Antonio, Texas but raised in Los Angeles, California. It became apparent at an early age that he had the entrepreneurial spirit. Capone began rapping and performing in front of an audience at the age of nine. He chose to write about street reality but also offer solutions and productive alternatives to a life of violence. Thus, Positive Hip Hop was created. His mission was to reach his listeners with a message of community involvement, quality family values, and peace. |
As a result of pursuing a career in Positive Hip Hop, Capone decided to start a non-profit organization call Family Fiesta. This organization provides opportunities for adolescents to create successful careers by teaching them to utilize their natural talents. Capone has served as Program Director of Family Fiesta, Inc. for over ten (10) years. He visits over 30 schools per year promoting Family Fiesta through a high energy music and art presentation.
Capone received The 1999 Jefferson Award for his exemplary community service. He was sent to Washington DC to be honored and was presented his award by Senator Kay Bailey Hutchinson. Additionally, he was the recipient of the 1999 Imagineers Award for visionary leadership and his achievements with Family Fiesta’s violence prevention programs.
In 2002, Capone established ManJon Studios – Family of Services. The Family of Services includes: Untouchables Creations Advertising Agency, Untouchable Underground Records, and Chicano Artworks Custom Airbrushing. Each business is lead my a member of the De Leon family. Untouchable Creations and Chicano Artworks work together to provide small businesses effective, affordable promotional products/services to effectively compete with large corporations. The mission of Untouchable Underground Records is to produce Positive Hip Hop. Capone utilizes his record label to help his Positive Hip Hop group, Capone & The Untouchables, to create and promote their enlightening brand of music. Songwriting, music composition, and publishing are also offered through Untouchable Underground Records.
Capone has toured with Capone and The Untouchables throughout Texas, California and the mid-west. His hip-hop and rap concerts and CD’s engage the audience to think beyond their limitations and old mindsets and to look for new ways to achieve the seemingly impossibilities of life. He’s a role model that has walked through the difficulties of divorce, depression, financial struggles and violence and has chosen to be a victor instead of a victim. He is a survivor and uses his talents to offer new hope and direction to his listeners.
